French windows lead up to the garden where you can have barbeques in the summer and hot wine at New Year whilst watching the fireworks over the castle.

Views from the garden look straight out on to Inverness Castle, with the Black Isle and Ben Wyvis in the distance.

LOCATION

The whole city centre is within walking distance of the apartment - restaurants, shops, bars, tourist information centre and walks by the river. The train and bus stations are 5 minutes walk away, or a short taxi journey.

Loch Ness is only 6 miles away. For those without a car, organised coach tours to Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle leave from Inverness tourist information centre. Boat trips on the Loch are also available.

There are numerous historic places to visit within a short distance of Inverness including Fort George, Culloden Battlefield, Cawdor Castle and Brodie Castle.

You're likely to see Red Kites as you drive over the Black Isle and you can take boat trips from there to see the Moray Firth Dolphins.

You can drive to the "Castle and Whisky Trail" in about an hour and a half.

Other possible day trips by car or bus can include Orkney, Ullapool or the Isle of Skye.
